On Oct. 31, 2007 we traveled from Greensboro to Charlotte to Miami to Bogota to Lima. Cesar, Grace and Kyle greeted us in Jorge Chavez International Airport on Nov. 1 and so the adventure began. Has it only been a year? Here are some collected photos (mostly ones you've already seen, sorry) and highlights:
November (2007): moving into our host home, beginning language school, Thanksgiving with our fellow students
December: sewing and art classes (in Spanish), spending Christmas in the Puerto Supe sunshine
February: left breathless (in more ways than one) overlooking Machu Picchu, getting a 1 lb toy poodle puppy
March: meeting all the other SAM Peru missionaries and attending the yearly field conference, seeing Latin American Holy Week festivities, attending our host brother’s wedding, going to the beach with our language school friends, exploring Lake Titicaca and its floating islands
April: seeing condors fly over Colca Canyon, getting a 3-week old mastiff puppy, moving from language school to Puerto Supe
October: celebrating our 5 year anniversary, learning to lead in the Cubas’s absence, seminary students coming from Lima to preach
